Martina Vaneckova (Vaněčková) is a Registered Psychologist, Certified Child and Youth Care Counsellor, and owner at Growth and Healing Psychology. She is an immigrant to Canada from Slovakia and knows well how difficult life transitions can be on our human experience, sense of self, and our relationships.
Martina strives to provide a safe, warm and compassionate space for her clients to discuss, examine and address their struggles that hold them back from the life they desire. She leans on existentialist and holistic perspectives to relate to her client’s struggles and works from an integrative approach to help create an individualized approach to address her clients’ needs. Therefore, in addition to her educational and personal experiences, Martina has further training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Systems Therapy.
Martina believes that therapy is an important step for anyone on their journey of self-growth and personal development as well as learning new coping skills and developing self-awareness to alleviate symptoms of mental health struggles. Learning to have mental and emotional flexibility is the key to not only experience a life filled with more joy but also to help us adapt to the fast-changing world around us.
